For a very long time, I wanted to learn the art of photography. As a kid, I would rejoice clicking pictures from my parent’s phone or for that matter any body’s phone or camera. It was recently that I bought for myself a micro DSLR to learn photography. It is a Sony Alpha 7, with two lenses. The 24-70 allows me to shoot photos at a closer distance while the 70-200 helps me by clicking far off photos.

It is easy to pick up a camera, press the shutter button and makes a photo. But improving your photography means taking full control of your camera. I really got confused about the numerous external dials and menu options on the camera. This micro DSLR is far more complex than a compact camera. So I read the instruction book carefully and asked my friends for help. I found that many smartphones and compact cameras lock you out of certain aspects of photography, such as the ability to set exposure and shutter speed. Once I mastered this camera, I've been hooked on photography. I often feel the urge to go outside and shoot images, and then share them with some like-minded photographers.

It has been 8 months since I got the camera and have been using it extensively almost everywhere. From the solo trips that I have taken to my office parties, from the friends gatherings to our crazy fun nights. The camera has helped me in capturing the moments of life in a more beautiful way.
Owning a camera teaches an individual multitude of things. The most important of which I believe is how to see things differently. Using different lenses and techniques, you can make ordinary things look unique and facinating. Also, I believe one must learn as many skills as he or she can in their lifetime.
